But that old standby, the 9 cent cup o’ coffee, is gone (but it’s only going up to 45 cents, which, while a huge increase in percentage terms, is not really so bad in the greater scheme of things).

DC’s a great town for art lovers. There’s the Smithsonian for starters, not to mention all the urban art. I go there for the art, not the people.

Let’s not give the people too little credit – it’s the most highly educated and well read city in America!

But you’re right, the art available is amazing, though the gallery scene and community of practicing visual artists isn’t great (though the music scene, especially jazz, is pretty darn good!).
